In September 2019 Microsoft announced that the Software Assurance training benefit program will be phased out with a final program end date of January 1, 2022. Beginning February 1, 2020, Azure content will no longer be included in the Software Assurance training benefit program and will no longer be found in this product catalog.

I’m unable to find Azure courses in the catalog?

Beginning February 1, 2020, Azure content will no longer be eligible for the Software Assurance training benefit program. Azure content will no longer be listed in this catalog after that date.

What is the Software Assurance Training Catalog?

This catalog represents only the eligible training offerings for the Software Assurance program. For more information on training resources outside of the Software Assurance program, please visit Microsoft Learning.

What do each of the course filters represent?

The filters are described below.

Audience—the group of individuals for which the training is intended: IT Pro, Developer, and End User.

Product Technology—catalog searches can be focused on a particular product/interest or technology category. For example, a filter could be selected to show all courses for Windows Server 2016 or SQL Server 2017.

Language—the language(s) in which a training course is offered.

Training Type—training listed here is only available as instructor-led classroom.

Program Type—training listed here is only available with the Software Assurance program.

Offer Type—the category in which programs are offered to customers.

Availability—expected availability for a course:

Future represents courses available in the next 60 days.

New indicates courses that have become available in the last 60 days.
-
Now represents courses available now, including new courses.

Why are the columns organized as they are in the course list?

The first set of columns describes information about the product. The columns following the descriptive information reflect which “offers” are available for the course. The course list also shows the languages for which the course is available

What do the different column headers mean?

The column headers are described below.

Audience—the two different Software Assurance user groups, IT Pro, and Developer:

IT Pro users include those individuals that are responsible for the configuration and deployment of technology.

Developers include users that are interested in creating Web applications or other services running on Microsoft platforms.

Product Technology / Portfolio —this represents the subject of the training.

Product Number
—the unique number identifying each product.

Product Type—Classroom (also known as instructor-led training).

Title
—the product or course title.
-
Unit
—number of hours, days, or pages, depending on the product.

Language—language offered

Can I arrange the course list alphabetically?

Clicking any column header will sort the course list in alphanumeric order by the column header.

Some items state "Future (Q4 2020)". What does "Q1" represent?

The "Q" represents "quarter" and follows the quarters of a calendar year:

Q1—January–March
- Q2—April–June
- Q3—July–September
- Q4—October–December

Can I export the course list to Microsoft Excel?

To export the course list to Excel, click the Excel icon that appears above and to the right of the course list.

The filters at the top of the screen use too much space. Can I remove them?

To hide filters in the interface, click the Hide Filters icon (-) above and to the left of the filters. Click the Show Filters icon to display the filters again. Note: Filter information is not exported to Excel.
